An ancient settlement called Tavatepe belonging to the Khojaly-Gadabey culture was discovered in the village of Ashagi Kasaman village of Aghstafa district. The team of “Keshikchidaghu” State historical and cultural reserve visited the area in order to become more familiar with the excavations conducted under the leadership of Bakhtiyar Jalilov, associate professor of the Institute of Archaeology, Ethnography and Anthropology of ANAS, doctor of philosophy in history. It should be noted that archaeologists from Turkey and Italy work together with local experts in the excavations. The remains of buildings made of clay bricks and river stones typical of the Late Bronze-Early Iron Age, farm jars, wells, various pottery vessels, and stone tools, which were removed from the settlement during archaeological excavations, belong to the end of the 2nd millennium BC and the 1st millennium BC. The objects found here suggest that the way of life here was highly developed.
