Practical work is underway within the framework of the “Scientific-Archaeological Excavations and Summer School in Keshikchidagh 6” project in the Valley of Kurgans, located on the territory of the “Keshikchidagh” State Historical and Cultural Reserve, managed by the State Service for Protection, Development and Restoration of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture.
During the initial stage of the project, under the leadership of Vagif Asadov, PhD in History and leading researcher at the Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology of ANAS, the kurgans designated for archaeological research were identified, and preliminary organizational work was completed at the excavation sites. Additionally, to ensure the comfortable and safe operation of the archaeological expedition members and summer school participants in field conditions, traditional felt tents (alachighs) were set up first. These tents are of key importance for creating an effective working and resting environment for the participants, enabling the field operations to continue in a systematic manner. Currently, the necessary infrastructure for conducting archaeological excavations, scientific research, and practical training has been established, and excavation activities are ongoing.
