Koroghlu fortress
The remains of the fortress located in the territory of Yukhari Eskipara village belong to the 17th century in terms of construction style. One of the relatively intact monuments in Yukhari Eskipara village is Dordkunclu Fortress. This fortress is called the Koroghlu fortress tower and simply the Tower. Sometimes it is also called Koroghlu Fortress. This multi-storied fortress, built on the bank of the Coghaz river, was a guardhouse. Windows with a multi-plan structure, observation holes, places of warning bonfires confirm the idea that this place was a guard post. In terms of plan structure, the fortress is square and the length of each side is 8 meters. The fort has belts-patterns made of red bricks very neatly laid and baked from river stone. Wood was used for the connections between the floors. There are also auxiliary buildings in the yard. The facts proving this are the remains of those buildings. From the point of view of architecture and engineering, the building was erected in the style of construction specific to the region. A watchtower similar to this, built in the same style, is located on the territory of Aghstafa region, on the state border of Azerbaijan and Georgia. This fortress is a rare and important example of medieval defense buildings of Azerbaijan.
