From the fauna of our reserve…
We will talk about the golden or red duck, one of the rare birds, which adds a special beauty to the fauna of the Keshikchidagh caves complex. The red duck, or Ogar, is a member of the Duck family. The name means “bright bird floating in the water.”
The feathers on Ogar’s head are orange and white. It has a bright orange body tube. The tail is covered with a beautiful green color, and the inside of the wing is white.
These birds are included in the Red Book, so they are mainly bred and protected as an ornamental species.
