The project titled “Archaeological Excavations and Summer School in Keşikçidağ – 5”, jointly organized by the State Service for the Protection, Development, and Restoration of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology of ANAS, is successfully continuing.

The project titled “Archaeological Excavations and Summer School in Keşikçidağ – 5”, jointly organized by the State Service for the Protection, Development, and Restoration of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology of ANAS, is successfully continuing. On June 12, 2025, the archaeological excavations conducted within the territory of the reserve under the leadership of PhD in History, Associate Professor Shamil Najafov, a leading researcher at the Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology of ANAS, were observed on-site by the management and staff of the “Avey” State Historical and Cultural Reserve. During the visit, the guests were familiarized with the archaeological excavation process being carried out at the “Yovshanlidara” kurgans, where researchers working in the area provided detailed information about the discovered material and cultural artifacts as well as their preliminary scientific analysis.
