On the occasion of April 18 – International Day for Monuments and Sites, the management and staff of the “Keshikchidagh” State Historical and Cultural Reserve conducted a scientific excursion to the area of the Agaligtapa settlement located in the Aghstafa region. The excursion was led by Shamil Najafov (Associate Professor, Doctor of Historical Sciences, and leading researcher at the Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology of ANAS) and Professor Dr. Martin Gruber (Head of the Department of Ancient Near Eastern Studies at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg, Germany). During the excursion, it was noted that the Agaligtapa settlement, dating back to the Late Bronze – Early Iron Age, holds significant scientific importance for studying the ancient settlement history of the region. Detailed information was provided regarding the archaeological characteristics of the monument, the excavations carried out, and the material culture samples discovered.
