On February 10, 2026, an online scientific seminar on the preservation, study, and promotion of medieval cultural heritage was held through the joint organization of the “Keşikçidağ” State Historical and Cultural Reserve and the “Hazret Sultan” National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

On February 10, 2026, an online scientific seminar on the preservation, study, and promotion of medieval cultural heritage was held through the joint organization of the “Keşikçidağ” State Historical and Cultural Reserve and the “Hazret Sultan” National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The seminar served as an important scientific platform for the scholarly study of the shared historical and cultural heritage of the Turkic world and for the expansion of international cooperation. The event was attended by representatives of other historical and cultural reserves operating under the State Service for the Protection, Development, and Restoration of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture, scholars and young volunteers from the Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology of ANAS, as well as undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students studying history, archaeology, and architecture at Baku State University and Khazar University. The seminar was of particular importance not only for the academic community but also in terms of actively engaging young researchers and students in the scientific process. Presentations at the online seminar were delivered by Yunis Nasibli, Chief Researcher of the “Keşikçidağ” State Historical and Cultural Reserve, Associate Professor at Baku State University, Candidate of Historical Sciences; Salimjan Solkhayev, Inspector of the Monument Protection Department of the “Hazret Sultan” National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve; Shamil Najafov, Leading Researcher at the Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology of ANAS, PhD in History, Associate Professor; Yagub Mammadov, Lecturer at Khazar University and Leading Researcher at the Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology of ANAS, PhD in History, Associate Professor; Marat Kymyzovich Tuyakbayev, employee of the Monument Protection Department of the “Hazret Sultan” National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve; and Jahan Osmanova, employee of the “Avey” State Historical and Cultural Reserve. The presentations broadly discussed modern scientific approaches to the protection and study of medieval monuments, international experience, and future prospects for cooperation between the two reserves.
Within the framework of the seminar, Israil Mammadov, a young volunteer of the projects “Scientific Archaeological Excavations and Summer School in Keşikçidağ,” also delivered a presentation, sharing his experiences of participating in archaeological excavations within the reserve, the practical knowledge and skills he gained, and the role of such projects in shaping the scientific worldview of young people. His presentation once again demonstrated the importance of integrating youth into the scientific research process. The main objective of the event was to further strengthen scientific cooperation between the “Keşikçidağ” and “Hazret Sultan” reserves, to conduct comparative studies of historical, archaeological, and architectural heritage, and to discuss opportunities for implementing joint scientific research, expeditions, and projects in the future. The seminar was regarded as an important step toward preserving the shared cultural heritage of the Turkic world and incorporating it into international academic circulation. At the end of the scientific seminar, joint certificates were awarded by the “Keşikçidağ” State Historical and Cultural Reserve and the “Hazret Sultan” National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve to students and master’s students for their active participation.
