In recent times, scientific research and archaeological excavations carried out in the territory of the “Keshikchidagh” State Historical and Cultural Reserve have aroused wide public and scientific interest. In this context, well-known intellectuals, ethnographers, and scholars from Baku organized a scientific tour to the reserve area. The tour was attended by Ismayil Umudlu, PhD in History, Associate Professor and Senior Researcher of the Institute of History and Ethnology named after A.A. Bakikhanov of ANAS, and Bahman Faziloglu, PhD in History and Associate Professor, who are currently conducting research in the region.
The main purpose of the scientific tour was to study on-site the historical and cultural heritage monuments located in the reserve area — including the “Ilham Aliyev Peak”, nearby caves, ancient frescoes reflected on their walls and ceilings, as well as water wells and food storage sites. During the tour, the participants discussed the origin and ethnographic features of these monuments, and exchanged ideas on potential future cooperation.
It is also planned to conduct large-scale ethnographic research in the Jeyranchol area, and to organize a scientific conference where the results of these studies will be presented.
