On December 8, 2022, with the support of the State Service for the Protection, Development and Restoration of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, “Modern approaches in the preservation, research and promotion of historical and cultural monuments” scientific-practical conference was held by the “Keshikchidagh” State Historical and Cultural Reserve at the Heydar Aliyev Center of Aghstafa district. At the conference dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the reserve, officials of the State Service for the Protection, Development and Restoration of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, representatives of the Aghstafa District Executive Power, “Aghstafa Youth House” Social Service Institution, the Heydar Aliyev Center of the Aghstafa District, as well as the reserves located in the region scientific workers, excursionists, scientists who conducted scientific research in the territory of the reserve, intellectuals of the region participated.
The event started with a visit to the monument of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev erected in front of the Heydar Aliyev Center in Aghstafa district, the conference participants got acquainted with the museum about the life and work of Heydar Aliyev, and then the guests visited a corner of printed products belonging to the reserve, archaeological artifacts discovered during archaeological excavations in the reserve exhibition and were introduced to the restoration process of jars found in a fragmented state.
The head of Aghstafa district Executive Power, Seymur Orujov, declared the conference open. Later, the deputy head, head of the department of socio-political and humanitarian affairs, Lala Eyyubova, head of the Department of Cultural Heritage Protection of the State Service for the Protection, Development and Restoration of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ruslan Anvarli, deputy director of Ganja Regional Destination Management Organization Fariz Garayev, Hasan Mirzayev, head of the Ganja Regional Department of the State Service for Cultural Heritage Protection, Development and Restoration, member of the Baku International Center for Multiculturalism, associate professor of Baku State University, doctor of art studies Imash Hajiyev, doctor of philology of Baku State University Valeh Nasibov, “Aghstafa Youth House” Social Service director of the institution Nijat Vakilov, Indira Samadova, honored history teacher of Aghstafa district named after A. Huseynov secondary school, director of “Avey” State historical and cultural reserve, doctor of philosophy in pedagogy Saadat Aliyeva, scientific worker of “Ancient Shamkir city” historical and cultural reserve Huseynova Alamzar and the scientific staff of “Avey” State Historical and Cultural Reserve made their reports. At the conference, the director of “Keshikchidagh” State historical and cultural reserve, Musa Mursaguliyev, talked about the works and projects implemented during the 15 years since the establishment of the reserve.
After the conclusion of the scientific part of the conference, the conference participants visited the Damjili cave camp for the purpose of an excursion, where they got acquainted with the excavation site conducted jointly by Japanese and Azerbaijani archaeologists and the exhibition of the exhibits discovered from the excavations, and then the conference participants joined the company organized a tree planting ceremony here under the name “Plant a tree for everyone”. Also, the participants of the conference had an excursion to the monuments located in the Damjili branch, the guests were informed about these monuments by the tour guides, and their questions were answered.
