Azer Yusifli

Azer Yusifli, Secretary General of the Rapid Reaction Group (RRM) of the State Border Service during the war to liberate the Armenian-occupied territories by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces on September 27, 2020, served in the Border Troops during the war fought in the battles for the freedom of Khudafarin bridge and Zangilan. As a result of successful operations, the city was liberated at night. At around 04:00, Azer Yusifli planted the Azerbaijani flag in Zangilan after 27 years.

Azer Yusifli was martyred on October 21 in the direction of Zangilan. He was buried on October 22 in Boyuk Kesik village of Aghstafa region.

According to the relevant orders of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Azer Yusifli was posthumously awarded the “Hero of the Patriotic War” medal, the “For the Motherland” medal and the “For the Liberation of Jabrayil” medal. In order to immortalize the memory of our martyr, one of the streets in Aghstafa was named after Azer Yusifli and a bas-relief was placed on that street. It should be noted that Azer Nazim oghlu Yusifli was an active military serviceman of the SBS, as well as awarded the jubilee medal “100th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Border Guard” and the 3rd degree medal “For Merit in Military Service”.
