Round Table Held within the Framework of the “Scientific-Archaeological Excavations and Summer School – 6 in Keshikchidag” Project. A round table was organized within the framework of the project “Scientific-Archaeological Excavations and Summer School – 6 in Keshikchidag,” implemented in partnership with the ANAS Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology on the territory of the “Keshikchidag” State Historical and Cultural Reserve, managed by the State Service for Protection, Development and Restoration of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture.

Lola Huseynova, Senior Researcher at the ANAS Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology and archaeologist, participated in the round table. During the meeting, participants discussed the typological features, shapes, manufacturing technology, chronological attribution, and historical-cultural context of intact, fragmented, and restored ceramic specimens discovered during archaeological excavations conducted this year and in previous years in the Keshikchidag Valley of Mounds. At the same time, the importance of taking material samples for analysis to determine the composition and other characteristics of these specimens was highlighted, along with the role the expected results will play in a more detailed scientific study of ceramic artifacts. Emphasizing that ceramic products serve as a crucial scientific source in archaeological research, Lola Huseynova noted the significance of their comparative-typological analysis in studying the daily life, production traditions, and cultural relations of ancient populations. Furthermore, an exchange of views took place on refining the historical-cultural features of ceramic samples through scientific classification, comparison with analogous archaeological materials, and consideration of analysis results.
