On the eve of May 10 – the 103rd anniversary of the birth of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, an excursion was organized for tour participants within the territory of the “Keshikchidagh” State Historical and Cultural Reserve, managed by the State Service of Cultural Heritage Conservation, Development, and Restoration under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan. As part of the excursion, participants first visited the archaeological monuments and ancient burial complexes located in the Keshikchidagh Valley of Kurghans, where they received detailed information regarding the scientific-archaeological research conducted in the area. Subsequently, the guests visited the “Peak named after Ilham Aliyev” and the adjacent caves, exploring the preserved fresco samples on walls and ceilings, as well as ancient water wells and food storage facilities. During the tour, the exceptional importance of Keshikchidagh was emphasized in terms of studying the historical-cultural heritage and the ancient residential and spiritual environment of the region. During the visit, participants observed the vibrant poppy fields at the foothills of the Jeyranchol plain, which had bloomed with the arrival of spring, and took commemorative photographs against the backdrop of panoramic views. The enchanting beauty of spring and the landscapes stretching along the mountain ranges left an unforgettable impression on the guests. The program also included a visit to the almond orchard established by the reserve. Guests were briefed on the afforestation and environmental protection measures implemented in the area, as well as the specific flora and fauna of the region, including rare bird species. In conclusion, the activities carried out by the reserve staff in the fields of protection, research, and promotion of historical-cultural heritage were highly commended. It was emphasized that such events play a crucial role in transmitting national and moral values to future generations.
