The night of January 19-20, 1990 is a glorious history when the people who lived under the Soviet empire for many years raised the voice of freedom and showed courage for their sovereignty. In connection with the January 20 tragedy, a series of measures were implemented by the “Keshikchidagh” State Historical-Cultural Reserve. Thus, on January 19, 2024, an online seminar called “January 20 – the page of honor and heroism of our history” was organized by the “Keshikchidagh” State Historical-Cultural Reserve. Parviz Gasimov, researcher of the Institute of Archeology, Ethnography and Anthropology of ANAS, PhD in history, archaeologist, who was a live witness of the events of January 20, and employees of the reserves operating under the State Service of Conservation, Development and Rehabilitation of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture participated in the seminar. At the seminar, Parviz Gasimov spoke about the events he witnessed on the night of January 20. Later, the management and employees of the reserve made a speech and stated that even though the Azerbaijani people were subjected to military, political, and spiritual aggression on January 20, they were loyal to their historical traditions of heroism, and demonstrated to the whole world their determination to endure the most difficult trials and even become martyrs for the sake of the freedom and independence of the Motherland. As a continuation of these events, a round table entitled “The Chronicle of Honor of our People” was held in the administrative building of the “Keshikchidagh” State Historical-Cultural Reserve. At the round table, first of all, the souls of the victims of January 20, including our martyrs who died for the freedom of our land, were remembered with a minute of silence. The director of the reserve, Musa Mursaguliyev, noted that on January 20, 1990, the people of Azerbaijan gave many martyrs for their freedom and independence. However, the will of the people was not broken and the national spirit was not shaken. During that tragedy, the children of the Motherland, who gave their lives for the protection of national interests and rose to the height of martyrdom, wrote a new bright page in the annals of heroism of our nation with their incomparable sacrifices.
