Conference

We report that in order to promote the Keshikchidagh caves complex, to revive our ancient history, “Keshikchidagh” State Historical and Cultural Reserve regularly participates in local and international arenas with scientific articles. These works have been expanded in the last two years, our scientific reports on the reserve have been heard and published at about 50 local and international conferences. One of such conferences is the 2nd International Modern Scientific Research Congress held in Istanbul, Turkey on December 23-25, 2021. Firuza Mammadova, a leading researcher of the “Keshikchidagh” State Historical and Cultural Reserve, participated in this conference with an article entitled “Cylindrical seal found in Keshikchidagh” and was awarded a Certificate by conference organizers. Also, in order to further expand cooperation between the “Keshikchidagh” State Historical and Cultural Reserve and IKSAD in the future, with the chairman of the organizing committee of IKSAD DR. Mustafa Latif Emek exchanged views and planned to hold joint conferences. It should be noted that this cylindrical seal, which will leave a mark on the archeology of Azerbaijan, was discovered during the archeological excavations in the valley of the Keshikchidagh mounds in the Sariyokhush gorge mound No. 2. There are special inscriptions on the seal made of steatite, which is believed to belong to the head of the tribe. According to ancient beliefs, this stone was used to communicate with the spirit world. For this reason, people mostly hung this stone around their throats.

This invaluable material and cultural artifact found in the Keshikchidagh burial mound will be examined by experts in writing or simply related to people’s religious worldviews.
