The third day of the scientific-practical training on "Digital Architectural Imagery and Documentation Methods," jointly organized by the State Service for Protection, Development and Restoration of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture and the ANAS Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology, led by invited specialists from the Republic of Türkiye, has successfully concluded.

The third day of the scientific-practical training on “Digital Architectural Imagery and Documentation Methods,” jointly organized by the State Service for Protection, Development and Restoration of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture and the ANAS Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology, led by invited specialists from the Republic of Türkiye, has successfully concluded.

The third day’s field practice took place at the Kharkhar Necropolis, dating back to the Caucasian Albania period and located in Kharkhar village, Gadabay district. Crucial for Azerbaijani archaeology, this necropolis possesses rich scientific potential for studying ancient burial customs and the material cultural heritage of Caucasian Albania.During the field practice, participants gained hands-on experience in applying LiDAR technology to grave monuments, tombstones, skeletal remains, burial chambers, and other archaeological elements of the necropolis. The sessions included high-precision digital scanning of archaeological objects, taking measurements, generating 3D models, and collecting primary data for digital documentation.
