On the occasion of the 36th anniversary of the January 20 tragedy, a roundtable discussion was held at the administrative building of the “Keşikçidağ” State Historical and Cultural Reserve. During the roundtable, the cherished memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the January 20 tragedy, as well as those who gave their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, was honored with a one-minute moment of silence.
In their speeches, the reserve staff emphasized that the memory of the January 20 martyrs is always held high in the national consciousness of the Azerbaijani people and highlighted that this tragedy became a turning point on the path to our country’s independence. Subsequently, scholarly discussions were conducted on the main objectives behind the January 20 events, their historical and political causes, and the impact of these events on the process of national self-awareness in Azerbaijani society.
