A Scientific Conference of Republic Importance Has Been Held
On May 15, 2026, a republican scientific conference titled “Historical Development Stages of Azerbaijani Urban Planning and Architectural Heritage on the Example of Ganja” was held at the Ganja Branch of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS). At the conference, Musa Mursaguliyev, Director of the “Keshikchidagh” State Historical and Cultural Reserve, which operates under the administration of the State Service for Conservation, Development, and Restoration of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, delivered a scientific report on “Architectural Examples in the Western Region of Azerbaijan – Medieval Defense Structures.”
The report provided detailed information about the architectural features, historical significance, strategic functions, and the importance of preserving the medieval defense structures located in the western region of Azerbaijan as cultural heritage sites. The conference carried great significance in terms of conducting scientific discussions, researching architectural heritage, and promoting historical and cultural monuments. At the end of the conference, the organizers presented a certificate to the reserve’s management.
