Held in Aghstafa In accordance with the Action Plan of the Aghstafa District Executive Power regarding the “Year of Urban Planning and Architecture” 2026, an intellectual knowledge competition was held among teacher teams from 34 general education institutions in the Aghstafa district. The event was jointly organized by the “Keshikchidagh” State Historical and Cultural Reserve (under the State Service for the Protection, Development, and Restoration of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture) and the Aghstafa Education Sector of the Gazakh-Tovuz Regional Education Department. The main objective of the event, held in the gymnasium of the Vurghun settlement secondary school, was to increase knowledge in the field of architecture and urban planning, strengthen awareness in this direction, and reinforce the role of teachers in the process of protecting and promoting national and cultural values. The event began with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by a minute of silence to honor the memories of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of our homeland. In the three-stage competition, teams were presented with questions covering the “Year of Urban Planning and Architecture,” historical monuments as carriers of cultural heritage, and their protection and promotion. Based on the final decision of the juri. 1st Place “Khojaly” team (Giraq Kesemen village secondary school), 2nd Place “Fuzuli” team (Vurghun settlement secondary school) , 3rd Place Damjili” team (Kochesker village secondary school No. 1). This intellectual event was of significant importance in terms of promoting knowledge in architecture and urban planning, strengthening awareness of cultural heritage protection, and developing cooperation between the educational community and cultural institutions.
