Title: Yovshanlidere Kurgan No. 3
Location: Jeyranchol, Keshikchidagh Valley of Kurgans
Date of Discovery: 5–30 June 2025
Period: Middle Bronze Age
Kurgan No. 3, excavated in the Yovshanlidere area, has proven to be structurally quite distinctive. This kurgan is situated in close proximity to Kurgan No. 4, lying to its south. Its diameter measures 10 meters, and its height above the modern ground surface is 0.9 meters. The mound cover consists entirely of soil. It represents one of the rare earthen kurgans encountered in the Keshikchidagh Valley of Kurgans. In this respect, Kurgan No. 3 stands out markedly from the others. Thus far, it is the first earthen kurgan to have been excavated in the valley during archaeological investigations. Although a small number of pebbles of minor size were found, the mound covering is composed almost entirely of fine, grayish soil with low clay content. Archaeological excavations of the kurgan revealed a human skeleton along with ceramic artifacts.
