“Keshikchidagh” State Historical-Cultural reserve was established according to the order of the President of the country Mr. Ilham Aliyev No. 2563. “Keshikchidagh” State Historical-Cultural Reserve, a complex of cave-temples located 750-950 m above sea level, 15 km north-east of Jandargol Lake, on steep cliffs on the south and south-west sides of the mountains. Starting from the caves complex, facing 10 km to the south, there are up to 100 barrows of the Late Bronze Age – Early Iron Age, the end of the II millennium – the beginning of the I millennium BC, and a total of 334 architectural, archaeological, religious, natural and memorial monuments.
Keshikchidagh is the place where our history is lived, it is distinguished by its mysterious beauty, it is the place of refuge of our great-grandfathers. It is one of the first human settlements where our ancestors, who lived spontaneously, turned to protect themselves from wild animals and the whims of nature. A monument that captivates everyone with its unique majestic appearance and is considered a stone inscription of the ancient country.
For thousands of years, these lands have been a place of worship where not only the worshipers of the Moon and the Sun, fire worshipers, but also the Crusaders and other religious beliefs took refuge.
In order to explore and learn the historical truths hidden in the hidden pages of time in the dark caves in the territory of the “Keshikchidagh” State Historical-Cultural Reserve, it is not enough to just see and observe this complex of monuments, “you need to feel, hear and listen to them”. Even if centuries pass and time passes, this silent but magnificent and irreplaceable relic of history does not lose its beauty, antiquity and historicity. We are waiting for everyone who wants to see our history.
