As part of the “Year of Urban Planning and Architecture” and on the occasion of World Teachers’ Day, an intellectual competition titled “Architect of Intellect” (“Zəka memarı”) was held among teachers. The event was jointly organized by the State Service for Protection, Development and Restoration of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture—managing the “Keshikchidagh” State Historical and Cultural Reserve—the Agstafa District Executive Power, and the Agstafa Education Sector of the Gazakh-Tovuz Regional Education Department.
The main purpose of the competition was to develop the intellectual potential and worldview of teachers, enhance their knowledge in urban planning and architecture, and strengthen educational efforts focused on promoting, preserving, and passing down Azerbaijan’s rich historical-cultural heritage, architectural landmarks, and historical monuments to future generations.The event, held at the full secondary school of Vurgun settlement in Agstafa district, began with the playing of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by a minute of silence to commemorate the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of our Motherland.During the three-stage competition, teams were presented with questions covering the “Year of Urban Planning and Architecture,” historical monuments as carriers of cultural heritage, and their protection and promotion. According to the final decision of the jury, 1st place was awarded to the “Shusha” team (H. Alizade Kochasgar Village Full Secondary School No. 1), 2nd place to the “Taghlar” team (R. Alicanov Kochvalili Village Full Secondary School), and 3rd place to the “Damir Yumruq” (Iron Fist) team (A. Mustafayev Hasansu Village Full Secondary School).
