\nThe obsidian arrowheads discovered in the reserve area are among the significant archaeological findings that provide valuable insights into the hunting, warfare, and daily life of the region’s ancient inhabitants. The properties and usage of obsidian help researchers understand the technological advancements and cultural connections of that period. Obsidian is a volcanic glass that has a unique structure, allowing for the creation of exceptionally sharp edges. The presence of obsidian in the Keshikchidagh area suggests that ancient people either sourced it from nearby volcanic regions or obtained it through long-distance trade networks. Since the Stone Age, obsidian has been widely used for making weapons and tools due to its superior sharpness – sometimes even exceeding that of bone or metal blades. Obsidian arrowheads used for hunting were particularly effective, as their razor-sharp edges could easily pierce animal hides. Additionally, these arrowheads were also employed in warfare, designed to inflict severe wounds on enemies, demonstrating the strategic and tactical knowledge of ancient societies.<\/p>\n
