The State Service for Conservation, Development and Restoration of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture consecutively implemented the “Scientific-Archaeological Excavations and Summer School in Keshikchidagh” projects from 2021 to 2025 under the administration of the “Keshikchidagh” State Historical and Cultural Reserve. During the archaeological excavations, numerous artifacts dating back to the Middle Bronze Age, Late Bronze Age, and Early Iron Age were discovered, and the results of the projects were covered in prestigious international media.

\nAs a continuation of the scientific research and educational directions of the initiative, the implementation of the “Scientific-Archaeological Excavations and Summer School in Keshikchidagh \u2013 6” project is planned. As part of the preparations, young volunteers from the Aghstafa District Youth and Sports Sector of the Gazakh-Tovuz Regional Youth and Sports Department visited the administrative building of the “Keshikchidagh” State Historical and Cultural Reserve. The visit aimed to introduce the youth to archaeological heritage, inform them about the objectives and scope of the project, and engage them in future volunteer activities.<\/p>\n

The youth first viewed a museum-style exhibit consisting of material culture samples discovered during previous excavations at archaeological monuments located in the Keshikchidagh Mound Valley. Reserve employees provided participants with detailed information regarding the historical and cultural significance, chronological characteristics, and geographical range of the artifacts.<\/p>\n

During the remainder of the meeting, video materials documenting past archaeological excavations and summer school projects conducted in the reserve were screened. The participants were informed about the main stages of archaeological research, excavation methods, and the documentation and scientific study of uncovered materials. Additionally, an exchange of views took place regarding the activities planned for the “Scientific-Archaeological Excavations and Summer School in Keshikchidagh \u2013 6” project and opportunities for youth participation as volunteers.<\/p>\n

The primary objective of the meeting was to increase youth interest in archaeological heritage, raise their awareness about protecting national cultural heritage, and support their engagement in scientific research and volunteer activities within the framework of the “Scientific-Archaeological Excavations and Summer School in Keshikchidagh \u2013 6” project.<\/p>\n
