The kurgan measures 16 meters along the north-south axis and 14 meters along the east-west axis.<br \/>\nExcavations of Sar\u0131yoxu\u015f D\u0259r\u0259si Kurgan No. 1 revealed a richly equipped burial beneath a stone covering, dating to the Late Bronze \u2013 Early Iron Age. Initial research within the burial chamber uncovered several black-polished, ornamented pottery vessels characteristic of the Khojaly-Gedebey archaeological culture.
