"Preservation of the historical heritage of the economic district of Ganja-Gazakh and development of urban planning"

On June 29-30, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the State Service for the Protection, Development and Restoration of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the organization of the Union of Azerbaijan Architects with the participation of the “Keshikchidagh” State historical and cultural reserve

was organized as a plenum in the Heydar Aliyev Center of Aghstafa district. The event first started with the guests laying flowers in front of the statue of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev located in front of the Heydar Aliyev Center of Aghstafa district. The guests got acquainted with the stand reflecting the life and creativity of Heydar Aliyev, the founder of our modern Azerbaijan, and the exhibition called “Modern Azerbaijan Architecture”. The guests were also shown an exhibition of rich material and culture samples discovered during archaeological excavations, their restoration process and printed products belonging to the reserve. The exhibition of models of weapons prepared by Aghstafa district schoolchildren and widely used by our ancestors in hunting and gathering was welcomed at the event.
Later, the official part of the event began in the assembly hall of the Heydar Aliyev Center. The Chairman of the Board of the Union of Architects of Azerbaijan, Mr. Elbay Gasimzade, the Head of the Aghstafa District Executive Authority, Mr. Seymur Orujov, the Secretary of the Union of Architects of Azerbaijan, the Rector of the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, Professor Gulchohra Mammadova, the head of the State Service for the Protection, Development and Restoration of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Azad Jafarli, the chairman of the Commission on Urban Planning of the Union of Architects of Azerbaijan, the deputy chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture Mr. Ilgar Isbatov, the head of the department of the University of Architecture and Art of ANAS Raiha Amanzade and the director of the “Keshikchidagh” State Historical and Cultural Reserve Mr. Musa Mursaguliyev gave their reports. After the conclusion of the plenum, the guests visited the “Avey” State Historical and Cultural Reserve, where the Damjili cave is located, an ancient residential camp in the territory of Gazakh region,
On the second day of the plenum, the guests visited the Keshikchidagh caves complex, where the “Keshikchidagh” State historical and cultural reserve is located. The guests were welcomed to the sounds of saz airs, one of our ancient musical instruments, played by Ashugs in national costumes, and got acquainted with the exhibition built around “The peak named after Ilham Aliyev”.
The participants were invited to the samovar tea with thyme, which adds special beauty to the mysterious nature of the Keshikchidagh caves complex, and is considered a cure for a thousand and one pains. Later, the participants viewed the frescoes reflected in the caves located in the area, their sofas and ceilings, which are considered a clear example of wall painting.
Guests were presented with gift bags containing printed products of the reserve, discs of a short documentary film called “Stone Book of the Ancient Land” about the Keshikchidagh caves complex. At the end of the event, a commemorative photo was taken in front of “The peak named after Ilham Aliyev”.
