Pearls of Shusha…
One of the Shusha hamam, the Shirin su hamam, was built in 1878-1880 by order of Khurshidbanu Natavan. The architect of the hamam is Karbalai Safikhan Garabaghi. The hamam was named “Shirin su hamam” because it operated with drinking water that Natavan brought to Shusha in 1873. The bath served men on single days of the week and women on double days.
Since 2001, by the Decision No. 132 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the hamam has been registered as a histo
rical monument of national importance.
