One of the unique results of our archeological excavations

With the support of the State Service for Protection, Development and Restoration of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a project entitled “Scientific-archaeological excavations and summer school in Keshikchidagh” was implemented on June 5-22, 2021. Under the leadership of the head of the Public Relations Department of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of ANAS, Doctor of Philosophy in History, archeologist Parviz Gasimov, scientific archeological researches and excavations were carried out in Keshikchidagh Kurgans valley, Sariyokhush gorge No. 1 and No. 2. The material and cultural samples found in these excavations are especially distinguished by their richness and diversity.
Numerous arrowheads were found in the Sariyokhush gorge of the Keshikchidagh Kurgans valley, consisting of mound No. 1 and an obsidian belonging to the early stage of Khojaly-Gadabay culture. This arrowhead is a cutting tool made of obsidian. The front part is triangular, the upper part is oval.
